Generation 2000

Prime Minister and Leader of the Jamaica Labour Party (JLP), the Honourable Andrew Holness will be the headline guest this afternoon for several activities in South Florida before returning to Jamaica late tonight. The activities include a townhall meeting at the Christway Baptist Church in Miramar, media interviews and a private Generation 2000 (G2K) Fundraiser at a private residence in Davie which will see several prominent South Florida political representatives in attendance.

The new JLP Leader is also scheduled to meet for a second time with members of the recently formed and rapidly expanding Miami/ Fort Lauderdale Chapter of Generation 2000 (G2K), the young professional affiliate of the JLP. Mr. Holness will be accompanied by G2K President Delano Seiveright and Vice President Matthew Samuda. Mr. Seiveright said that the Miami/ Fort Lauderdale Chapter of G2K is among the fastest growing chapters of G2K overseas owing to the very large pool of young Jamaican professionals residing in South Florida and the their overwhelming support and excitement for the 39 year old Andrew Holness.

The quick tour by Mr. Holness forms part of his commitment to connect with the Jamaica Diaspora and in this case its young people to hear their views on how to best move Jamaica forward whilst informing them as to the current and future plans, policies and initiatives of the JLP government in addressing Jamaica’s economic, social and political challenges.
