Daryl R. E. Whyte was born April 1, 1987 in Mandeville, Manchester to Keron Wong, daughter of popular Christiana Businessman Joseph Wong. He attended Christiana Moravian Primary School where he was recognized for his mathematical skills and was often chosen by the Principal, Mrs. Dottie Smith to solve mathematical problems deemed challenging and difficult to solve.

After successfully passing his GSAT Examinations in 1999 he attended Manchester High School. At Manchester High Daryl became very involved in student politics and was soon elected Student Council Representative for his class, a position he held until 5th form. In 5th form he was elected Student Council President. He however did not limit himself to just student politics as he was also the President of the Manchester High School Red Cross Youth Link, Prefect, PRO for the 4H Club and a member of the Quiz Club. At the end of his academic journey at Manchester High Daryl was selected by the Principal to be the valedictorian of his graduating class, for which his peers had unanimously voted.

After successfully completing the Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC) Daryl pursued a higher level of education by attending Manchester High sixth form, where he continued to influence student politics in the position of Advisor to the Council. He continued to work as a Student Leader throughout sixth form. He held the post of Senior Prefect and President of Children Outreach. He was selected as President of the Manchester High School Young Entrepreneurs Association and Vice President of the Manchester High School Sixth Form Association. He held both positions while being the Vice President and Coach of the Debating Society, where he led the team to their first victory in nine (9) years, winning the JPS debating competition.

After sixth form Daryl attended the University of the West Indies (UWI) where he was a member of the Mona Campus Youth League. He swiftly rose through the ranks over the next three years from Pro of the League in his second year to President in his final year. At this time he co-founded the Micro Chapter of Generation 2000 (G2K), which today is one of the most vibrant G2K Chapters. While at UWI Daryl with fellow G2K member Marlon Osborne became the first students in the history of the Guild to balance the Budget of the Guild's Bus Service. Daryl was the Head Bus Monitor and Marlon was the Guild Vice-President. Daryl's achievements earned him an award for outstanding service at the annual award ceremony at UWI.

Daryl is now an aide to the Honorable Daryl Vaz, Minister without Portfolio in the Office of the Prime Minister and his responsibilities include managing the areas of Information, Special Projects and Telecommunications.
