Floyd O’Brian Green was born at the Cornwall Regional Hospital in St. James on the 10th day of January, 1982. His formal education began in Hanover at the Lucea Preparatory School but very soon was shifted to the Munro Preparatory School as the family relocated to the parish which was to become his home, St. Elizabeth. His educational sojourn then took him to one of Jamaica’s most prestigious boy’s school, Munro College. It was here that his desire to serve and ability to lead were evinced and harnessed.

During his Munro years Floyd served as a Prefect, President of the Science Club, a member of the Student Council and was involved in a number of other clubs and societies. The school bestowed on him the award for the Most Involved Senior Student in addition to subject prizes for CXC and A’ Level History.

With the study of history as one of his passions Floyd went on to the University of West Indies Mona Campus where he read for a degree in History and a minor in Political Science, which he attained with upper second class honours. Here he was able to combine his ability to serve with his love for entertainment. At Mona, he served in the capacities of Vice President (2003 / 2004) and Cultural and Entertainment Affairs Chairman (2002 / 2003) of the Guild of Students and as the Cultural and Entertainment Affairs Chairman (2001 / 2002) and Acting Hall Chairman (2001 / 2002) for Chancellor Hall. His service and leadership abilities transcended the Jamaican shores and on to the Barbadian shores where he undertook his studies in the field of law. There he was elected as the President of the Cave Hill Guild of Students for academic year 2005 / 2006. He sat on various committees including the University Finance and General Planning Committee and the Barbados Local Organising Committee of Cricket World Cup. He also represented the University and the nation as a UWI student ambassador to the University of Costa Rica and to the University Of Virgin Island Future Global Leaders Institute where he served as valedictorian.

He was awarded his LLB in 2006 with Upper Second Class Honours. Floyd has spearheaded a number of first time initiatives that has left positive and indelible impressions on the campuses including being founding member of the Vice Chancellor’s Student Ambassadors Corps which has as part of its mission the furtherance of the Caribbean Integration process. He was trained and appointed by the Caricom Secretariat as a Tertiary Level Spokesman on CSM. He has been bestowed with a number of awards including the UWI- Mona Premier Student Award for Service, The Guild of Students – Cave Hill and Mona Award for Outstanding Leadership. He received the Joseph S. Archibald, Q.C. Prize in Alternative Dispute Resolution, from the UWI- Cave Hill and the Kingsley Cooper Bursary for Intellectual Property. He was admitted to the Jamaican Bar on the 20th day of November, 2008 and currently is an associate at Wentworth S. Charles and company. He presently serves as the Deputy Chairman of the Jamaica Association of Young Professionals, and sits on a number of Boards, namely the Trade Board Limited, The Jamaica Business Development Corporation, The Micro Investment Development Agency and the Non – Profit ICT4D Ltd. He was invited as a Co – opted Member of the G2K Management team in 2008 and was one of the initial members of the Mona Campus Youth League.
