G2K SAYS NO PRIVATE CONTACT INFORMATION PUT OUT
Generation 2000 (G2K) the young professional affiliate of the Jamaica Labour Party (JLP), today stated categorically that it did not publicise private contact information for Managers at the RJR Communications Group. This is contrary to a statement by the RJR Communications Group issued yesterday stating in part that G2K publicized Blackberry contact information for RJR Communications Group Managers.
G2K President Delano Seiveright yesterday in an email, blackberry messenger, facebook and twitter note to members here and overseas directed those concerned about perceived bias by TVJ/RJR to communicate their concerns via email and or by telephone to the RJR Communications Group Managing Director Gary Allen and Group Head of News and Sports Milton Walker on publicly available office numbers and emails assigned to the RJR Communications Group.
The note to G2K’s Membership base was in part due to a flood of complaints about perceived bias by TVJ and RJR against the JLP especially by TVJ's Prime Time News and Smile Jamaica morning program.
Mr. Seiveright said that despite these concerns G2K continues to enjoy a very cordial relationship with Management members and Journalists at both TVJ and RJR. He also stated that G2K believes in a robust media and welcomes criticisms from all quarters once fair and balanced.
