The Jamaica Labour Party’s (JLP) young professional affiliate, Generation 2000 or G2K, has commissioned an extensive review of its role in the party’s failed campaign for re-election.
The JLP only managed to win 21 of the 63 seats in parliament.
The G2K has faced strong criticism for the tone of some of its campaign advertisements, comments by its president, Delano Seiveright, and its frequent spats with sections of the media.
The G2K said it has noted the criticisms and it’s against this background that it has commissioned a review of its activities.
The review will focus on the organisation’s philosophy and core values, internal management, its secretariat, media relations, internal communication, recruitment, succession planning, and electioneering activities.
G2K said the review committee is being chaired by Attorney-at-Law and JLP member Kamina Johnson-Smith with Management Consultant Gail Dunwell as Deputy Chairman.
It is expected that the report of the review committee will be ready by early March.
