Marlon Egerton Dyer was born in Kingston Jamaica on October 29, 1971.
He attended the Rousseau Primary, Norman Manley Secondary and EXED Community College. He first worked Chin’s Enterprise holding the position of Warehouse Supervisor with responsibility for quality control and then went on to learning the mechanic trade , working with E.G. Howard holding the position of a mechanic and subsequently, self-employed dealing with auto sales, specifically motor car sales and service.
Marlon Dyer attended the University of The West Indies, Mona Campus where he completed his Studies in 2008, with a Bachelor of Arts: History (Major), Political Science (Minor), Lower Second Class Honours.
Between October 1997 and August 2003, he worked as a self-employed mechanic dealing with auto sales and service. He later opened a sea food wholesale in the parish of St. Ann. He was also appointed to the board of the Community Colleges of Jamaica in January 2008.
Marlon Dyer joined Generation 2000 (G2K) in the year 2005. He served as Deputy General Secretary, before that as a co-opted member of the management committee. Marlon Dyer played a significant role in the Polling Unit that was influential to the success of 2007 general elections and 2007 parish council elections and he also participated considerably, in the by-elections held since the last general election. He is also a two times past president of the Mona Campus Youth League, G2K Chapter, University of the West Indies. He was also very involved in winning the East Rural St. Andrew and Northern Clarendon seats for the Jamaica Labour Party in the last general election.
In his auxiliary occasions he enjoys playing dominoes, reading, watching all type of sports, dancing and socializing with his friends talking politics. He is member of the Optimist Club of Manor Park
